The Bestselling Cookbooks of 2017

Ree Drummond’s Come and Get It was 2017’s top selling cookbook, moving more than 174,000 copies since hitting shelves in October, according to Nielsen Bookscan, which tracks approximately 80% of print sales. The Food Network star also nabbed the #9 spot with her previous effort, 2015’s The Pioneer Woman Cooks: Dinnertime, which sold 35,000 copies in 2017. On the whole, it was another solid year for the category, with cookbooks up 8% last year, compared with 2016.

It was, no doubt, the year of the Instant Pot, with cookbooks devoted to the appliance snagging three spots in the top 10. The Instant Pot Electric Pressure Cooker Cookbook by Laurel Randolph, and Instant Pot Miracle by the editors at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt took the #2 and #3 spots, respectively. Coco Morante’s The Essential Instant Pot Cookbook came in at #8. All told, Instant Pot cookbooks in the top 10 sold more than 200,000 copies last year.

New titles to the list included Tasty Latest and Greatest, from the Buzzfeed cooking brand, which hit #5 with nearly 45,000 copies sold. Smitten Kitchen blogger Deb Perelman’s latest, Smitten Kitchen Every Day, moved more than 35,000 copies, coming in at #7.

Thug Kitchen, released in 2014, held onto a position in the top 10, landing at #6. The book has hit the list four years running—it came in at #3 in 2014, #2 in 2015, and #3 in 2016. The book sold nearly 40,000 copies last year, and has sold more than 750,000 copies to date.
